Our nursery is split into different classrooms, for each of the age groups. Teaching and learning activities in each room are age appropriate for the different stages of development of young children.
The river bank
Home of our 2 year olds
For most of our children, this is their first experience outside the comfort of family and friends. The River Bank class will be a warm, welcoming environment to make this transition as positive as possible. The class welcomes children from two years of age into a home for home environment where play is at the heart. We gently support the development of independence and skills such as sharing and taking turns. All activities and resources are specifically for this age group.
Otters
Home of our 3 and 4 year old pre-schoolers
When children turn 3, they transition into our Otters Class – an exciting next step which opens new experiences. Play remains central to our day but with added structure to prepare children for their move to Primary School. Outdoor play is an important part of the day giving children the freedom to explore, play games and enjoy activities in the fresh air. We also create a supportive space where children can explore their emotions and begin to understand how they are feeling in a gentle nurturing way. Creativity flourishes in both our indoor and outdoor spaces with opportunities for storytelling, role-play and art.
Future room plans
In the near future we are planning to open a new room called The Nest which will be welcoming babies from the age of 3 months.
